Michael was so humble.. Brilliant. Watching him in the studio is priceless. There will never be another like him.

The Legend

It has been two days since the world first heard the news, Michael Jackson has passed away at age 50.
I am still in shock, it is all so surreal. I just want to say it is amazing to see how the nation and the world has been impacted by him and his presence, life, dance and music. He moved the world. It is disappointing to hear the negative things that some cruel and heartless people have had to say about such an influential iconic man. What have you done for this world? Take a look in the mirror before you ever dare to point a finger. Michael was human, just like the rest of us, how dare you make such cuts at one mans life. You know the saying as corny as it is... "you know what happens when you ASSUME" You never had to walk in that mans shoes. Hold your tongue and let the nation morn this devastating loss of a pop icon and legend, a human being and soul.

THE GOOD FRIDAY TORNADO

WELCOME TO TENNESSEE!
It is amazing to me how your life can be forever changed, within a matter of seconds, and without any warning at all.
I have never been so terrified for my life as I was on April 10, 2009.. Good Friday. Taking cover from a category 3 tornado that had touched down and was making its way directly for us. As my boyfriend and I crouched down together inside of the tub, while his nephew and dog hid under a bed, we waited for the hit that was inevitably going to happen. We prayed so hard, I knew what was God's will was going to be, and in that I found comfort. I prayed that he would shield this home and this street, my prayers were answered. Derek (my boyfriend) did look outside of the window at one point swearing to me that he saw the tornado pick up and then reform again. Well, I found this video on youtube and if you watch it through you will see a point where the tornado picks up off of the ground moves over a street or two and hits again. That was our home that it passed on over. I thank God for blessing us on this day, and keep in my prayers the others who were not so lucky. We drive right on down the street and see the devistation, the homes that were leveled, the lives that are forever changed.

HE GUIDED ME TO TENNESSEE ...

It's been a while since my previous post.
Sorry for that, my life has recently been turned upside down.
I just moved from VA to TN!! What a beautiful state .. I have never been happier and promise to keep on my blog from here on out. Here are a few of the photos I took on my 12 hour drive here.. I truly believe that God smiles on Tennessee every evening with unreal sunsets. Every night I can't help but stare at the beautiful sky and wonder, what may be in store for my life next..

This is a photograph of my beautiful Grandmother.
She was a fairly well known flamenco dancer over in Spain in her late teens, this was her passion, before moving over to the States to raise her family at twenty years old.
I remember when I was a little girl and we would go over for a visit, it was always so dark and mysterious, not your typical warm loving Grandmother's home visit. My sister and I would always explore using our wild imaginations to create the life we thought she lived in Spain. I will never forget the large dark velvet Spaniard paintings of bull fighting and beautiful women in every direction you turned. Back then, I definitely would have pictured her as the magical dancing woman in this video.. enjoy!

I received a message recently, out of the blue, from a person with such a sweet soul. She just reached out to say a couple kind words and in turn, completely brightened my day. Isn't it in the small things people do that make the impact?
You never know how much a few simple words can greatly affect the direction and mind of another.

It read "Stay Positive, Today is the first day of the rest of your life"
Short, Sweet, and to the point. She is right. It meant so much at that moment and every day since, I have woken up to my new day with that very thought at the forefront of my mind. I will forever cherish those words of wisdom.

I challenge you to start each day with this way of thinking as well. Every moment is a brand new, never lived before, moment! If you can even for a second, wrap your mind around this concept, you should be able to see it's true power and true beauty.

Don't hold back today! Say something kind at that person in passing. Reach out. Don't ever let opportunity slip away and from this moment on begin to take back control. It is all in your hands, your future, which way are you going to go?

Honestly though, the best moments are when they weren't even trying.
When something just tugged at their heart to reach out and say some positive words, when it is purely genuine never even knowing what they were saying were the exact words you needed.

Welcome to my Blog site "Wonderful Tonight"
The title "Wonderful Tonight" comes from a book I own titled
"Wonderful Tonight - George Harrison, Eric Clapton, And Me" by Pattie Boyd.
I just adore her. She really does have an amazing mind, beautiful soul, and man does she have a story to tell.

I was sitting here on my computer creating this Blog, and had to think of some sort of catchy title.. right? I looked up and there it was staring me directly in the face. So, there you have it. My exciting title adventure.

I want you to know, whomever may take an interest in this sight, that this is just a hobby for me. A way to release some creative energy bottled up inside of me. I am not a Musician, I am not an Artist, I am not a Writer, I am not a Photographer, I am not a Critic. I am however a tiny bit of them all .. wrapped up into one. I do not by any means think my pieces or my opinions on any given subject are brilliant and worth documenting as the gospel. I am only having fun! I am here to share the things I love most with you and the rest.
